There is a bright and colorful energy that can be felt as soon as you open the book and start sifting through the pages. The writing in and of itself is relatable, well written, and moving. However, it is the way the art and poetry combine and enhance each other that makes this book so special.Each poem includes a page of commentary, brief snippets that allow the poems to breathe and add a little something extra as well. The poetry is very accessible. You don’t need to be deeply into poetry or have an advanced vocabulary to appreciate and enjoy.Best fit is likely to be ages 12 and up. Content is suitable for any age, but may not keep the attention of younger children. Some younger children may gravitate towards this type of thing though so by no means are they excluded. 🧸🎈😀
